Instinct Matters

There are certain moments in our careers which drip with instinct. My first meetings with Hillary Smith and Angie Nelson, co-founders of Koncept,  were two of those moments for me.

Angie and Hillary have built an incredible business. Hard work, chances taken, sacrifice, persistence, and passion for our craft all came together to create an enviable market position in South Florida, and beyond.

And yet they wanted more – for their team and their own careers; something not easily attained without participation in a business of scale.

PRA wanted a more significant market position in Florida and a deeper creative bench. We also wanted to align with leaders who share our values.

I think we knew right away (at least I knew ?). The question was how we could find a path to partnership, and when.

This week we bring the Koncept Events team into our PRA family to expand our market presence in Florida, and fuel the passion of new PRA team members who also want to be part of a re-defining journey in the Business Events space.

We also bring a stronger ability to work successfully in the Caribbean and other markets given the experience Hillary, Angie and their team brings to our business.

In our quiet visit of the Koncept Events offices many weeks ago, Hillary was brimming with pride in the business she and Angie co-founded and built. Rightly so. That pride and accomplishment shows up beautifully every day in their work, and their relationships with their clients, partners and each other.

Entrepreneurs like Angie and Hillary are rare. Even rarer is the successful meld of entrepreneurial firms into a larger multifaceted organization like PRA. We have been doing so for a while now, and these entrepreneurial firms are thriving at PRA. We are getting it done through allegiance to our core values instilled many years ago as we expand our market position and evolve our approach to a rapidly changing landscape.

Quick bit of advice: when your instinct is strong, and the data backs it up, go with it.

Our collective instincts in this partnership led to this day. We are thrilled to work with Hillary, Angie and their team to find something more, as together we serve our clients, our partners, and each other  – with a spirit of intensity, humility and ownership in everything we do.

Thank you,

Tony Lorenz, CMM

CEO, PRA
