3 Plays for Super Bowl 2027 Planning
Author
It’s not business as usual in LA during the Super Bowl
In February 2027, Los Angeles (LA) will be in the spotlight as it hosts the Super Bowl® for the ninth time. While LA knows how to show up for major moments, an event of this scale completely resets the rules—venues, dining, experiences, and transportation all operate differently.
For one, there’s only so much inventory to go around—from hotel rooms to restaurant buyouts to vehicles, even experiences. Add in LA’s sheer size—it’s essentially five cities within a city—and suddenly, moving a group from point A to point B isn’t just logistics— it’s strategy. A 10-mile transfer can easily become an hour-long experience.
That’s why you need to think ahead.
If you’re even thinking about bringing a group to Super Bowl 2027, here are three key plays I recommend making now.
1. Lock in your Hotel
This is your foundation—everything else depends on it.
Your hotel determines your geography, or home base. And that determines everything else—from dining and transfers to your overall experience.
The goal? Keep your group within about 30 minutes from where they need to be. Anything beyond that means you’re spending hours in traffic—losing momentum and building frustration fast.
Inventory is especially tight around SoFi Stadium in Inglewood. Even in areas with larger hotel clusters, room counts are limited relative to demand during Super Bowl week.
What may sound like plenty of rooms on paper fills up quickly once corporate groups and leisure travelers compete for the same space.
I always tell clients: the earlier you secure your hotel, the more control you’ll have over the overall experience. Until that piece is in place, it’s difficult to confidently plan anything else.
2. Map your experiences around your home base
Once your hotel (and neighborhood) is set, everything else opens up.
Now we can design the experience—where you’ll dine, how your time flows, and what your guests will actually do in the days leading up to the game.
Most activity happens pre-event—Friday and Saturday leading into Sunday. That’s when clients are hosting dinners, planning outings, and creating those high-touch moments that elevate the experience beyond the game itself.
Depending on where you’re staying, that might look like:
- Hiking the Hollywood Hills
- Touring a museum privately
- Spending time at the beach in Redondo or Santa Monica
- Dining at a full restaurant buyout
The key is alignment—designing experiences that make sense geographically, not just creatively. And just as important, securing them early.
Once your location is locked, we can move quickly to hold venues, lock in rates, and build a cohesive itinerary before pricing escalates and availability shifts.
3. Start planning six to nine months out
If there’s a golden rule for timing, it’s this: start early.
A six-to-nine-month planning window gives you space to build something intentional, rather than assembling what’s left.
As demand increases, so do constraints:
- Venues become unavailable or less flexible
- Restaurants prioritize high-turn leisure traffic
- Transportation minimums increase
- Rates surge across services
Even if availability still exists closer to the event, it often comes with tradeoffs—higher costs, fewer options, or less-than-ideal locations.
Of course, we’ve pulled off last-minute programs before, but those are an exception—not a strategy.
The clients who get the best experiences are the ones who move early, secure their priorities, and build from there.
The Home Field Advantage
Super Bowl week rewards teams who know the terrain.
When you’re navigating a destination as complex and fast-moving as LA during a global event, local expertise is a strategic advantage. From understanding traffic patterns and road closures to knowing which venues will work in real time, having the right partner streamlines the process and mitigates risk.
And it allows you to stay focused on what matters most—the experience itself.
If Super Bowl 2027 in Los Angeles is even remotely on your radar, shift from thinking about it to designing it and experience the big game where everyone wins.
