Harvest Haven: Sustainable Leadership on the Farm

At a Glance

A Fortune 100 financial services firm turned to PRA for an environmentally conscious leadership experience. Their aim was to instill trust as a foundational principle in leadership and organizational development—and PRA delivered with a transformative, eco- and-purpose-driven event at The Ecology Center—the only regenerative organic certified™ farm in Southern California.

Challenge

Cultivating Trust

The client sought a meaningful offsite experience that reinforced trust, leadership development, and sustainability. This was not ‘greenwashed’ sustainability—it needed to be authentic, educational, and organically woven into the experience—while still meeting corporate standards for quality and comfort at a green venue hosting a corporate client for the first time.

Solution

Integrating Leadership with the Environment

PRA chose the venue—The Ecology Center—with intent as it served as both a literal and metaphorical backdrop for organizational growth and leadership development.

Every detail was also designed with intention. Menus were shaped by what the farm could responsibly provide, with flexibility built-in to allow for last-minute pivots. Décor and materials prioritized organic, reusable, or compostable options.

Experiential, hands-on activities drew parallels between ecological stewardship and leadership, including pizza- and tortilla-making demonstrations in the Center’s fermentation and grain labs. A reflective “release and action” experience had guests write personal intentions on seed paper and symbolically release them through the planting of an olive tree, representing growth, accountability, and long-term impact.

A nutritionist led wellness sessions, connecting personal health and resilience to leadership style, emphasizing that trust is built from the inside out.

All activities were immersive and interactive, intentionally aligned with the client’s goals of building trust, strengthening leadership, and driving organizational impact. The intentional destination and experiences raised the importance of cultivating an ecosystem—both ecological and organizational—that allows growth and change to thrive.

Throughout the planning and event, PRA served as a translator, bridging corporate expectations with a venue—a working farm and education center—that was not familiar with corporate clients. By listening and adapting language, planning style, and approach, PRA built trust on all sides, delivering a program that seamlessly integrated sustainability, wellness, and leadership development.
