The Power of Local Partnerships

After a hurricane hit a client’s local area, they were left unable to plan or travel outside of their destination for an incentive program that was supposed to take place in New Orleans just two days later. PRA’s forethought in utilizing an appropriate force majeure clause with suppliers, along with strong local partnerships, allowed us to alleviate the client’s concern. When the client was ready to go after the hurricane, PRA was able to recreate the program 45 days later, and the client didn’t suffer any penalties and attendees were shown an amazing incentive experience.


The initial objective was to create a unique destination experience to reward Top Performers from their dealer Certified Used Vehicle teams.  However, once the hurricane hit, a new challenge arose – to be able to cancel the event and recover deposits, then to be able to recreate the event 45 days later while ensuring the same elevated attendee experience.




Total Events Rescheduled with no Penalty


Once the client was operable, they were ready to move ahead with the program. This required us to recreate the entire program 45 days later. In some cases where specific elements were not available over the new dates, we created alternatives that were still in line with their business objectives and the experience they wanted to create for their award winners. None of the guests were aware that this was not the original plan!  PRA New Orleans was able to leverage supplier relationships so that the client did not incur cancellation fees and provide an amazing incentive experience for their winners.
